Playing Blackjack Online

For those of you who don't know, the object of Blackjack is to beat the dealer with a hand of cards that does not exceed 21. Blackjack is played between a dealer and a single player, who may play up to three hands.

A hand's value is the sum of its' cards:

1. Face cards (10, J, Q, K) count as 10
2. Aces count as either 1 or 11, whichever gives the player the highest total without busting.
3. All other cards count as their face value

Once you place your bets, play begins. Both you and the dealer receive two cards. The player's cards are always face up, with the dealer's first card being dealt face down and the dealer's second card being dealt face up. The dealer's first face-up card is called the upcard. The face down card belonging to the dealer card is known as the hole card. You can continue to draw cards (hit) until you want to stop drawing (stand) until the hand goes over 21, called a bust. You can hit or stand on any card total below 21. After you have completed your turns, the dealer must draw cards as long as his or her total is less than 17 and may hit on soft 17.

On CasinoUnreal.com, blackjack is played with 6 decks that are shuffled after each round. You win your bet by beating the dealer's hand without busting, or by the dealer busting if you have not busted first. If the first two cards you receive total 21 (Blackjack) , and the dealer does not have Blackjack, you win immediately, and are paid 3:2 on your bet. If you and the dealer both have Blackjack it is a push. If you bust, or the dealer's hand is greater than yours, you lose your bet. If you tie the dealer, it is called a push, and neither side wins.

After being dealt your first two cards, you may have the opportunity to double down. This will double your bet, and you will be dealt one and only one additional card to complete your hand. You can split pairs which will split your pair into two separate hands, with your original bet in effect for each hand. Thus, it effectively doubles the amount of money on the line. You then proceed to play each hand independently, requesting cards or standing, as desired. You can win, lose, or bust with either or both hands.

When the dealer's up card is an ace, insurance will be offered. Insurance is actually a type of secondary bet; you are betting that the dealer has a Blackjack. The insurance bet equals one half the amount of your original wager. The dealer will then check the hole card to see if it's a Blackjack. If the dealer does indeed have a Blackjack, you are paid off at 2 to 1. However, you also lose your original bet (if you do not have Blackjack), effectively making the hand a push. If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, you lose the insurance bet and play continues as normal.

Springbok Rugby

BRYAN HABANA:

Date of Birth: 12 June 1983
Country: South Africa
Team: Blue Bulls and Springboks

Bryan Habana is one of the stars of both Super 14 and international rugby, and has endeared himself to all South African Springbbok supporters. Playing on the wing for the Blue Bulls and Springboks, he's a fear to any team with of his devastating pace and strength, add to that his handling skills and the ability to intercept passes seemingly at will - and you have an awesome winger game winner on your hands.

Habana started out his rugby playing days at Meredale Primary School in Johannesburg and moved on to King Edward School. He showed his talent at these levels already but he really started getting noticed when he signed with the Golden Lions side. He was noticed by no less than the Blue Bulls coach, Heyneke Meyer, and of course the Springboks coach Jake White. He was picked for the tour to the Northern Hemisphere and subsequently scored a try against England after coming off the bench and only having played for 5 minutes.

Already considered a legend by especially his home fans in Pretoria, he went on to score the Blue Bulls winning try in injury time at Absa Stadium in Durban, for the Super 14 trophy no less.

Currently on top of his game and one of the key players for the Springbok Rugby team, he is surely one of the players to look out for at this year's Rugby World Cup in France.

At only 24 and already having achieved so much there really is a very bright future for this South African rugby star.

Latest Mesothelioma Research: Combination Improves Survival

The following mesothelioma research findings were reported in a recent issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Mesothelioma researchers have reported that combining Tomudex (raltitrexed) and Platinol (cisplatin) has shown amazing results in the improved survival of patients suffering from the rare Malignant pleural mesothelioma which is caused by habitual exposure to asbestos.

According to the mesothelioma research findings reported in the journal, the combination of the two treatments dramatically improves the survival of patients compared to the use of Platinol alone.

These mesothelioma research findings emerged from a randomized phase III trial.

Patients suffering from this rare mesothelioma usually experience shortness of breath, cough, pain, fatigue and loss of appetite. This new mesothelioma research findings are all the more encouraging because this type of cancer has proved to be resistant to most therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy on its' own and even when combined with radiation.

What usually complicates matters further is the fact that usually patients are not aware of the fact that they are suffering from malignant pleural mesothelioma until the disease has already progressed to a very advanced stage where treatment with surgery or radiation is no longer a viable option.

That is why the identification of treatment that can improve survival as well as quality of life in patients, as this mesothelioma research promises, is so significant.

Top 7 Questions to Ask When Interviewing a Business Coach

As a small business owner, agent, sales professional or C-Level executive, you have made the decision to hire a business coach or executive coach for you or your company as you seek transformational change. Congratulations! That is a good decision given the documented positive return on investment that this business strategy delivers.

However, you have met several coaches at various networking events or you may know one or two within some civic or professional organizations. Yet, you still are unsure as to whom is the best fit for you or your people. These seven questions may help you as you proceed through that decision making process.

  1. Do you use a proven performance improvement process? If so, please explain it to me. Sustainable success happens when a proven process is incorporated into the effort to improve performance.
  2. How to you measure success for your clients? Numbers mean everything. Effective business coaching can be measured just like effective learning or training.
  3. Can you readily share the results from past or existing clients? When the business coach can easily discuss the results from her or his clients, this highlights an understanding of some of the potential issues faced by the client. Again, all results should be quantified and not just qualified. See question number two.
  4. Do you provide referrals that are willing to speak with me? If prompted, can the business coach or executive coach give you at least two phone numbers that will attest to the experience of the coach?
  5. Can you describe how you work with your clients? Even though this sounds like question number one, the wording of this question allows for more specifics. Listen to the proposed schedule, material and for any additional information that will help you make a good decision.
  6. Have you ever turned down a potential client? Why or why not? If the coach recognizes his or her strengths and has a specific potential client in mind, the answer to this question allows an opportunity from your perspective to see if you are a good fit.
  7. What do you believe is the number one reason that people or businesses are not successful? This is the lynch pin question. Here is where the experience and insight of the coach should shine.

One question that I deliberately left out was Did the coach offer a free coaching session? This question does not truly reveal the critical issues that need to be addressed from your perspective as the buyer. Yes, you need to feel comfortable with the coach, but the bottom line should be about the ability of the coach to deliver the results. No ifs, no ands, no buts if you truly want to get to where you want to go.

Secrets to Finding Home Business Success

There are many home businesses available that are legitimate and that will allow you to achieve great financial results. There also are many more that are just over-hyped and nothing but smoke and mirrors. There are pyramid schemes, money games and just plain old scams. Unfortunately, any good opportunity will also attract the leeches who are just looking to take advantage of people and to take their money

Here are some key points to consider when looking for a home business:

Find a coach and mentor:

  • Find someone you can trust and believe in.

  • Find someone that can share the roadmap and tools they used to be successful.

  • Find someone who has a proven system that you can duplicate to get the same results.

  • Find someone who has already achieved what you are looking for.

  • Find someone who actually cares about your success and has a real concern for your personal achievement.

Make sure they have a direct financial interest in your success. This means that they are not successful unless you are successful.

Make sure that they have duplication. Are there others in the business who are using the system and getting results? Ask to be introduced to some of them. You will find that this is where many opportunities will come up short because they are leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Ask to talk to somebody who is new in the business, also ask to talk to somebody who has been around for a while. Both can give you a good indication of whether what you are being told is true or not.

Find a System That You can Duplicate:

Make sure the business has a marketing system in place that anyone can duplicate. A system that anybody can plug into and get consistent results. If you have to rely on recruiting family and friends or buying leads you are going to have a hard time generating an income. You have to have a way of getting quality prospects in front of your products or you will not be successful in the long run. Find a marketing system that is proven to work. They can be difficult to find and this is often where many people fail in this industry.

I recommend finding a direct sales company to work with. Many people find it difficult to generate a significant income with the MLM type of business models. The attrition rate is often very high and the commissions often very small.

Find a company that does not require you to pre-purchase the products up front at wholesale. If you have to buy the inventory to then turn around and sell, the company has already made its profit from you and is not going to have a serious interest if make a profit or not.

Very few people are good at sales. You only want to do the marketing for the company. The company should supply the sales presentation for you. Make sure that you will have a team of people with a system in place to do the product presentation and selling for you. You should always have a team of people available to support you at any time.

Check out the Products:

Make sure that the products being sold are legitimate and stand-alone products. Is it a product that people will purchase without having a business opportunity attached to it? Look for growing markets and dont chase trendy fads. Many network marketing and direct sales companies are built around the compensation plan only and are NOT about a product that stands on its own.

Buy the product yourself. You will want to do this for several reasons. If you dont want to purchase the product for yourself, that is a big indication that you also wont be able to make any money marketing the product to others. If you dont personally own the product, then you probably dont really believe in it and you won't be successful marketing it. Most legitimate companies do not require that you purchase the product, however you will want to to take full advantage of the compensation plan by purchasing the product for yourself. It is in your financial best interest to take advantage of the compensation plan in all direct sales companies. Review the compensation plan of each company carefully to understand how to position yourself financially. This can make the difference of tens of thousands of dollars of income in your first year.

Make sure that you have a money back guarantee on your purchase. This is a requirement by law. Any purchase you make should give you at least 3 days to review the product after you have received it. This takes the risk out of the purchase and gives you time to review the product and to see the company from the inside. You will then know if you have made the right decision.

There are many legitimate companies marketing great products. Make sure to find one that feels right to you! You have to believe in what you are doing.

Do Your Due Diligence on the Company:

Make sure that the company is financially stable and has a long term vision. You want them to be around for as long as you are going to be marketing for them. If a company has been in business for at least 5 years, they are more likely to be around for years to come.

Check the company for bad publicity. If the company has a lot of bad publicity, its likely for a reason. Bad publicity can seriously damage a company. Every company will have complaints, but look for an ongoing pattern of complaints and continued bad press.

Find out where the companys headquarters are located. Make sure that the company is not offshore to keep themselves just out of reach of the attorney general. This is a good indication of the companys true values.

Look Beyond The Hype:

You will see some hype with all opportunities, it is a necessary evil of doing business. So dont worry about some hype, just dont get caught-up by it. Review all the information to get the big picture and real information.

Once you know the facts about a company, dont get started with any opportunity that doesnt have a six figure income potential within the first year. The business opportunities that offer lower income potentials will take more of your time and effort than you would invest working a part time job. The odds are that you will quickly become discouraged and quit. The compensation must be worth your effort to give you the continued motivation necessary for you to succeed.

Use Common Sense:

If someone tells you that a $35 dollar investment will return thousands of dollars a month to you, they only want your $35. They are then going to show you how to spend more money in order for you make money. All of the legitimate opportunities that I know of can generally expect an investment of $2,000 to $3,000 for you to get started and begin making money. This includes the cost of your product purchase and your initial marketing costs. If youre not prepared to spend at least $2,000 to start a business, then you are wasting your time and money looking for a business because what you are looking for is a J-O-B.

Go With Your Gut:

Do you feel good about what you will be doing? If yes, then pursue it with everything you have! If you are leery and dont get straight answers about the products, the support or the systems, then go quickly in the opposite direction! If they aren't telling you the whole story then they are only after your money.

You should be able to tell if someone is really interested in building a long term relationship with you, or if they are just trying to sell you something.

Finally, is what you are about to do something you can be passionate about? Are going to be willing and eager to share it with others?

How can you be successful if you lack pride and self confidence in what you are doing? Do something that is meaningful to you and make what you do be all about "assisting others". That is really what sales is all about. Be proud and passionate about what you do and if you are following the right business system, and taking action, it will be impossible for you to fail.

Death Penalty: For or Against?

Every evening when we sit back on our sofas and relax, we watch TV. In the evening action is on mostly. Daily we see how someone is murdered, but we find it exciting and watch such films with pleasure. What could the consequences be if some of these episodes could be taken into the real life? A verdict can be very strict, the most cruel verdict at all. Murderers are charged death penalty. But nowadays we have a conflict on this basis. Should one be condemned to death or just get a life sentence and thats it?

Those who stand for death penalty always use the famous Bible quotation An eye for an eye. They also refer to the Bible when they say that someone breaks one of the Ten Commitments which is Dont kill, and the punishment is death. Revenge is a powerful motivator to take actions. Those whose relative was killed want the criminal to suffer as much as their beloved has suffered. Death penalty was widely used in the past and for different purposes. For example your head could be cut of for stealing the cattle in Frankish Empire, you could be tortured and killed for betrayal in Old England, and you could be fed to the dogs for killing a lord in Old Germany and so on. The examples can be numerous.

But the question is: do we possess the authority of God to take somebodys life even if he/she took somebody elses? Are we to judge other people? This can be a good topic for a custom term paper if to go deeper into the problem. God tells to forgive, this is also one of the Ten Commandments and we are not to break it. Nowadays a saying An eye for an eye is a bit old-fashioned. You will not kill a cat because he accidentally scratched you. We live in a democratic, free state where everybody is equal before the law and have to behave as such. In Europe there is no country left where death penalty still exists. It is rather hard to believe, for Europe was eager to execute everybody who went against the law. The ways to punish became milder, easier, and faster. Then, step by step, death penalty was canceled because of victory of humanism over revenge.

What is worse: death penalty or life sentence? A lot of students perform a term paper order on this topic. This idea can bring a good grade to the owner if closely researched. Of course life is the main value and there is nothing more valuable, but what is life, spent in for walls with those who were originated in the gutter of society, thinking about what a fool you were to do such a fatal mistake. But people who deserve to die have to be kept in very severe conditions. Unfortunately, our society can create real monsters that will not consider killing somebody an awful sin and crime.

But no matter how guilty a person is, humans have no right to kill others to revenge; we have no right to do so. We are not to judge, this is Gods authority to decide. And who knows, maybe killers are suffering more when they are locked in four walls than when they peacefully pass away to the other world.

Daniel Hunt has been working as a leading editor at SuperiorPapers.com - Custom Research Paper writing service for more than two years. You can order term paper and see for yourself. His research in Linguistics makes a great contribution to the science. You can see his advice on how to write a proper custom term paper in various guides on how to write.

Thin And Light - Ultraportable Laptops

In recent years, the big players in the laptop arena (Sony, Toshiba, HP, IBM, etc.) have begun producing ever more portable laptop computers, weighing in as little as 2.8 pounds and offering as much as 9 hours playback. Often portability would come at the cost of sacrificing functionality in favour of a smaller footprint or longer batterylife.

Thanks to advancements such as Intel's new low voltage processors, and some ingenious design, for the most part this is no longer the case (though there are some notable exceptions). You can now purchase an ultraportable laptop computer weighing in at a little over 3 pounds (or less) and still maintain enormous functionality, such as running Microsoft Windows Vista, and perhaps more importantly, maintain extra long batterylife as long 9hrs in some cases.

There are an increasingly diverse range of ultraportable computers, so some caveats are in order. For instance, we will only look at laptops with a screen between 11 and 13.5 inches smaller and we're in the realm of handheld computers. Also we will want to impose a maximum weight of 2.5 kilograms or 5.5 pounds theres no point in an ultraportable if you need a back brace to carry it.

The following is far from an exhaustive list, but it should prove as a good cross-section of the market.

Apple Macbookstarting at 1,119 / 749

Ever since Apple computers' switch from PowerPC to Intel processors in 2006, they have been increasly nudging their way into the traditional PC market; and nevermoreso since the release of Bootcamptm a free program from Apple that gives you the ability to install and run Microsoft Windows operating systems on Apple hardware.

The recently upgraded Intel Core 2 Duo powered Macbooks offer quite alot for their pricepoint. Starting from 1,119/749 the ultrathin, ultrabright widescreen wonder (as Apple put it) packs in many high spec components not often seen even in high specification laptops such as the built-in iSight webcam, remote control, gigabit ethernet. and firewire-400.

Unspurprisingly the cheapest model on offer leaves you wanting, at 200 cheaper than the next best model, you miss out on a supermultidrive - the fancy jack of all trades of CD/DVD writers, an additional 512MB RAM and 20GB Hard Disk space amongst others.

Although the graphics processor of the MacBook is far from the ideal, it is sufficient for most purposes including video playback, and even Windows Vista's Aero glass interface, remembering of course that ultraportable computers aren't designed to meet the needs of modern gamers, and probably never will be.

Pros:

  • Can play host to either MacOS X or Windows XP / Vista
  • Starting at only 1,119/749 you get alot of bang-for-your-buck
  • Considerably more stylish than your average brick

Cons:

  • Can only purchased online or at an Apple Retailer, which are few and far between. Though in recent months, more and more highstreet stores are selling Apple computers.
  • If your a windows user, you may find the one-button mouse thing irretating.
  • At 2.3 KG it's at the very upper limit of ultraportability
  • Poor integrated graphics sharing 64MB of main memory

Score: 3/5

Sony VAIO TXstarting at 1,999

Wild claims and high prices abound the Sony VAIO TX series of ultraportable laptops. With a screen size of 11.1 inches and with such high-end features as a carbon fibre chassis, weighing in at a nearly undetectectably 2.7 pounds and a battery life of upto 7.5hr per charge, its no surprise that the VAIO TX series comes in at the most expensive of all, with prices starting at 1,999.

If there was an ultimate portable laptop, it would be the Sony VAIO TX. With battery life alone at upto 7.5hr it should recieve such a title, but add to that its deminutive size, its more than ample memory of 1GB RAM and 80GB Hard Disk, the Sony VAIO TX is truly the most portable of the ultraportables.

That being said, not all is sunshine and lollypops. The TX series, in its effort to cut down on space has lost a little of usability in the process. Although by definition an ultraportable computer should be small, In this reviewers opinion, the TX series perhaps went a little too far, at least with the screen. With a widescreen screen size of only 11.1 inches diagonally, and a resolution as insanely high as 1366 x 768, one gets the feeling that to even use this tiny display on a regular basis would require either a magnifying glass or some prescription spectacles. In addition to the resolution being dispraportionate to screen size, I also feel that perhaps the trackpad could do with a little more in the way of size. For such a small display, controlling the cursor can be a nightmare at times.

Pros:

  • Truly in a class of its own
  • Carbon Fibre chassis
  • High spec in a small package
  • Integrated supermulti-drive

Cons:

  • Native resolution of the display is insanely high for such a small screen
  • Trackpad is too small or inaccurate for the native screen resolution
  • Expensive
Score: 4/5

Dell XPS M1210 starting at 1,299

Certainly not the prettiest of the ultramobiles, far from it infact, the Dell XPS M1210 series makes up for the chunky looks by packing in lots of functionality. With 1GB RAM, 120GB Hard Disk, 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and integrated DVD +/- RW by default, the Dell XPS M1210 is arguably the best value for money of all the ultraportable computers.

It has its failings however, apart from looking like a plastic brick and a weight starting at 1.93KG. Thats most definitely with minimal offerings, its far from being the best contender in the ultraportable field. However if price is an issue, this machine packs alot into a very small space at a very reasonable price.

Pros:

  • Possibly the best value for money

Cons:

  • Truly the ugliest of the bunch

Score: 4.5/5

Samsung Q35starting at 1,450

By far my favourite of all the ultraportables, the Samsung Q35 offers not only great functionality at a reasonable price but also does so in a very stylish manner both in silver and red. Unlike some other contenders to the ultraportable throne, the Q35 not only offers decent battery life (over 5hrs), a high performance processor (1.8 Ghz Intel Core2 Duo), bags of memory (1.25 GB RAM, 100GB Hard Disk), but also packs in an internal supermultidrive and a 6-in-1 memory card reader whilst still staying ultralight at only 1.89 KG and still at a very reasonable price point. It even includes a splash/water proof keyboard, which anyone who has experienced the dread of desperately wiping up a spilled beverage before their laptop dies, will apreciate.

The Samsung Q35 is the successor to the Q30; an older and slightly lighter model that was lacking some vital features such as an integrated optical drive and whose memory lay at a now-meagre 512 MB and 40GB respectively.

Available in both red and silver, the Q35 is a very stylish laptop indeed; especially when compared to the rather chunky and uninspired design of the Dell XPS M1210, also sporting the now defacto standard of wireless communications protocols: 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR.

Pros:

  • Stylish in silver and red models
  • Decent battery life
  • Integrated supermulti-drive
  • Reasonable price point
  • 6-in-1 media card reader
  • Wireless 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR

Cons:

  • Hard to find replacement or increased capacity battery
  • Windows XP (free upgrade to Vista Home Premium)

Score: 5/5
